Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Auto Electrician - Bathurst/Orange / Central West NSW

Motive Civil and Plant Hire | Full-time | $50 per hr + super

We're a civil contractor delivering subdivision, drainage, earthworks and council infrastructure projects across the Central West. We're looking for a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Auto Electrician (or someone who does both) to keep our fleet of earthmoving plant, trucks and light vehicles running.

What you’ll do

Service, maintain and repair earthmoving plant: excavators, loaders, graders, rollers, dozers and skid steers

Work on our Trucks, Utes and light vehicles, and on attachments, trailers and small plant

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults

Fit and maintain auto electrical systems: lighting, beacons, cameras, two-way radios, GPS/machine control wiring, batteries and charging

Do field service and breakdowns on site to minimize downtime





Schedule and record preventive maintenance by hours and kilometers

Do pre-hire, pre-start and safety inspections, plus RMS/HVIS prep for trucks and trailers

Keep service records, parts orders and workshop documentation up to date

Look after a clean, secure workshop and service vehicle

About you

Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Cert III Heavy Commercial / Mobile Plant) and/or Auto Electrician (Cert III Automotive Electrical)

Experience with civil or earthmoving plant (Cat, Volvo, Hitachi, Kobelco, etc.)

Confident using diagnostic software and laptops

Able to work independently on site, solve problems and plan your own day

Hydraulics experience, a welding ticket or machine control experience is highly regarded

Local work, home every night, no FIFO

Service vehicle, tools allowance or supplied tooling, phone, and PPE
