Height Safety Installer / Trade Assistant – Casual

Urban Apex is a growing Sydney-based height safety company specialising in the installation, inspection and certification of height safety and roof access systems on commercial and industrial buildings. You'll initially work directly alongside an experienced height safety installer across projects throughout Sydney. The work is varied and includes exposure to a range of commercial and industrial sites rather than doing the same job every day.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting with the installation of height safety systems - Roof anchor and static lines, Aluminium walkways and guardrail, Access ladders and stairs

- Setting up and using height safety systems

- Installation inspections and quality checks

- Site photos and installation documentation

About you

- Trade or construction experience

- Good on the tools

- Comfortable working on roofs

- Take pride in your work

- Willing to learn

We're looking for someone who:

- Turns up when they say they will

- Is comfortable working at heights

- Is confident using power tools

- Has good practical and mechanical ability

- Takes pride in doing work properly

- Can work safely without needing to be constantly reminded

- Is comfortable dealing with clients and other trades on site





- Wants to learn and become more capable over time

- Is looking for more than just filling in a few days between other jobs

What You'll Need

- Construction White Card

- Current driver's licence

- Work Safely at Heights (RIIWHS204E)

- Construction or trade experience

- Ability to travel to different sites throughout Sydney

Experience with roofing and an understanding of different roof types would be particularly valuable.

Further height safety, rescue and manufacturer-specific training can be provided as you progress.

Hours & Longer-Term Opportunity

This is initially a casual position with variable hours, generally around 1–4 days per week depending on workload.

Some weeks may be busy with several consecutive days of work, while other weeks may have limited or no work.

We want to be upfront about that.

However, we're not looking for someone simply to get us through one project.

The aim is to find the right person, train them properly and increase the amount of work we can take on as they become more capable.

For someone who works out well, there is genuine potential for the role to become much more consistent as Urban Apex continues to grow.

Over time, the right person could progress from assisting with installations to carrying out installations, inspections and other height safety work with greater independence.
