We are currently seeking a motivated and technically driven Field Application Engineer to join our team in Eastern Creek, NSW. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering technical solutions, supporting customers, and enabling sales success across industrial and automation markets.

About the Role

As a Field Application Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting sales teams and customers by delivering high-quality technical expertise across the Phoenix Contact product portfolio.

You will provide both pre-and-post sales technical support, deliver training, and contribute to solution development, helping driving sustainable growth and long-term customer success.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Solutions

- Provide expert pre-and post-sales technical support to internal teams and customers.
- Support solution-based sales opportunities and assist with technical specifications and quotations.
- Deliver on-site technical support including testing an commissioning.
- Manage and resolve technical queries through helpdesk systems.

Training and Stakeholder Engagement

- Deliver product training, seminars, and technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct "lunch & learns" sessions and support customer education initiatives.
- Collaborate with product management on recent product introductions.
- Support major projects, tenders,



and technical submissions.
- Assist in driving value-added solutions and project outcomes within your territory.
- Prepare technical drawings using AutoCAD or similar tools.
- Work closely with sales, distribution, and product teams to deliver customer outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence
- Maintain strong communication and stakeholder engagement across the business.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone with:

- Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in application engineering or technical support roles.
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems (highly regarded).
- Experience with PLC/SCADA systems (advantageous).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design tools.
- Solid understanding of relevant Australian standards (e.g. AS/NZS 3000).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to support sales outcomes.
- Current White Card and Australian work rights required.
