Supporting projects across Townsville and surrounding areas from our office in Mount Louisa, this role reports directly to the General Manager and Operations Manager, joining a collaborative team environment.

As an Estimator, you will work closely with insurers, clients, supervisors and subcontractors throughout the repair process, from initial site assessment through to project delivery. You will prepare detailed scopes of work and cost estimates, helping to ensure each project is delivered efficiently, accurately and to a high standard.

This opportunity would ideally suit a qualified tradesperson looking to take the next step in their career and apply their practical building knowledge in an estimating role. With support from experienced leaders and established systems, you will build specialist insurance repair knowledge while bringing your existing skills and experience to a new setting.

Combining office-based estimating with regular site visits and travel throughout Townsville, the role offers genuine variety in an environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

- Attend sites to assess damage and deliver accurate, timely estimates aligned to scope, policy coverage, and client expectations
- Interpret consultant reports, photos, and documentation to develop clear, comprehensive scopes of work
- Proactively liaise with insurers, clients, and subcontractors to clarify requirements, resolve queries, and progress quotes within required timeframes
- Coordinate access to properties and ensure a smooth and efficient project setup
- Work closely with Supervisors to ensure budgets, timelines, and outcomes are achieved




- Identify and communicate variations early to ensure works remain aligned with scope, standards, and contractual requirements
- Ensure all estimates and documentation are completed with a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Consistently meet agreed turnaround times, service levels, and quality standards to support team and business performance

Could This Be You?

- A practical background in building or construction, which may include carpentry, bricklaying, plastering or another relevant trade
- Sound understanding of construction methods, labour and material costs, with the ability to interpret plans, assess damage and develop clear scopes of work
- A proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership, accountability and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn industry-relevant estimating systems
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple claims or projects through to completion while working autonomously and maintaining accountability and performance
