Find the Talent. Build the team. Run the roster.
Hotelstaff has been placing hospitality Talent since 1986.
In 2024 we returned to Front of House staffing with our "Back to Front" strategy and in a short time we have started to see the market respond very positively with the return of many of our old clients.
Our FoH Talent is back working with caterers, hotels, events, schools and functions across Melbourne and with Major Events that include Grand Prix, the Spring Racing Carnival and the Australian Open.
We are now ready to appoint an Account Manager for this portfolio to return Hotelstaff as the Front of House market leader once more.
Do you have the skills, knowledge and drive coz this is one where we want you to run your own desk!
Front of House is your team, end to end: build it strong but deliver it with a boutique mindset.
Recruit the right Talent. Find supervisors, food and beverage attendants, baristas and bartenders who match our brand. Put each of them through a proper skills assessment, then trust your judgement.
Roster and manage the team. Put the right people on the right shifts and keep every shift covered. Build a team that wants to keep working with us.
Be on site. Be a presence at the venue when your team is checking in uniform checks and attitude checks are what ensures they look great and are mentally prepared for their shift
Account manage your FoH clients and bring in new business where you can. That is a bonus, not the brief but if you are a master at your craft this will happen organically and quickly!!!
What you must bring
- Strong, hands-on Front of House experience. Ideally this is in supervisory or management roles in fine dining, 4 and 5-star hotels, high-volume events or premium catering, where floor standards are non-negotiable.
- this experience is essential.
- An eye for Talent. You can run a practical skills assessment, such as tray service, barista technique or bar flow, and you know when your instinct is right.
- Workforce planning experience. You know contemporary rostering and workforce management software, and you can handle fast-moving schedules and last-minute client requests.
- Strong communication and administration skills. This is still an office job and requires you to spend time on a computer, running spreadsheets etc
- A team player who will buy into our culture: high standards, winning outcomes, and supporting your Talent on the floor through Melbourne's major event periods.
How it works
This is an office-based role in our new offices on St Kilda Road, with time on site at venues when your team is working. It is not Monday to Friday. When it is busy, you are on, including weekends supporting your Talent. In the quieter months you will play a part in the wider business.
You will work within the broader Hotelstaff team, and our administrators will handle much of the day-to-day processing. If you can build the desk, we will support that growth.
Our culture
You must enjoy being part of a team and be willing to buy into our culture. We work hard, we play hard and we celebrate our successes. We like how it feels to win, and we are always looking to create more of that feeling. We were the biggest once and we know what it takes to service that market so you must be willing to be a part of that and do whatever it takes to achieve our goals!
What we offer
We offer a generous salary and bonus structure for the right candidate. Success is measured in growth: a bigger, better team, more shifts filled, and a desk that helps put Hotelstaff back where it belongs.
