Audio Visual Senior Lead Technician & Commissioning Technician

Location: Melbourne, FL (on-site / field)
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent

Position Summary

The AV Senior Lead Technician & Commissioning Technician leads field installation teams through installation, programming, testing, commissioning and turnover of commercial AV systems. This is a hands-on field lead role for an expert commercial AV technician.

Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise AV installation teams and subcontractors as the primary field technical lead
- Work with Project Managers and engineers on scope and site issues
- Follow project specifications, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Configure and program control systems, DSPs, audio mixers and specialty devices
- Install and maintain racks, displays, projectors, cameras, VTC systems, microphones and speakers
- Commission systems,



including final testing, calibration and quality assurance
- Troubleshoot AV and IT issues in the field
- Train end users on completed systems
- Maintain redlines and configuration files for the customer deliverables package

Requirements

- 10+ years of AV installation experience and knowledge of construction methodology
- 3-5 years of AV commissioning and system testing experience
- Experience leading field teams of 5 or more
- Strong commercial AV systems knowledge (commercial AV experience is required)
- Advanced skills in DSP, control systems, networking, testing and troubleshooting
- CTS / CTS-I or equivalent certification
- Strong customer communication skills
- Able to drive a company fleet vehicle, lift 35+ lbs, and work on ladders up to 25 ft and bucket/boom lifts (lift certification training provided)
