Your fashion career deserves more than another assistant role. Ready to take your fashion knowledge beyond the classroom and into the world of luxury fashion?
This is an opportunity to join an internationally recognised ready-to-wear fashion business, working behind the scenes to bring beautifully considered collections to life.
If you have some hands-on fashion, design or production experience and want to understand how fabrics, trims and technical details come together in a global fashion business, this could be your next move.
ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Our client is a Melbourne-founded luxury fashion house with an international presence, known for its distinctive bridal and ready-to-wear collections.
With a strong design identity and a growing global footprint, the business brings together creativity, craftsmanship and technical expertise to deliver exceptional garments.
You'll be joining a passionate team where the details matter, collaboration is key, and your contribution helps bring each collection from concept to production.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working closely with Design, Development and Production, you'll support the sourcing, development and coordination of fabrics and trims across ready-to-wear collections.
You'll work with a worldwide supplier network and gain exposure to the journey from initial material selection through to sampling, bulk production and delivery.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Support fabric and trim sourcing in line with design and quality requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers on pricing, delivery and technical information.
- Coordinate sampling and bulk material orders across local and offshore partners.
- Manage lab dips and colour approvals alongside the Design team.
- Maintain accurate fabric, trim, inventory and supplier records.
- Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), including material costs and yields.
- Support material testing, stocktakes and replenishment.
- Work closely with Production and Development to keep collections moving.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Exposure to garment sampling or in-house production workflows.
- An interest in fabrics, trims, garment construction and quality.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- Confidence communicating with suppliers and internal teams.
- Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Robust experience with an ERP or PLM system (Netsuite is advantageous).
- Around two years' apparel experience is desirable, but we're also interested in emerging talent with relevant hands-on experience and a genuine passion for fashion.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
- A global fashion platform: Gain experience within an internationally recognised luxury business.
- Learn beyond the design studio: Develop your understanding of sourcing, materials, production and manufacturing.
- Work across beautiful collections: Exposure to both luxury bridal and ready-to-wear.
- International supplier exposure: Build relationships across a global manufacturing network.
- A meaningful next step: Develop technical and commercial skills that can shape your future in fashion.
