Salary: $79,500–$85,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience

About the opportunity

Grunske’s by the River is seeking a qualified and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team in Bundaberg East. This role suits someone who takes pride in consistent food quality, professional kitchen practices and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present dishes consistently and to a high standard.
- Contribute to menu planning, recipe development and food costing.
- Estimate ingredient requirements, order supplies and manage stock rotation.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, storage temperatures and waste.
- Maintain food safety, allergen management and kitchen hygiene standards.
- Coordinate food preparation and service with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Guide and train junior kitchen staff as required.

Qualifications and experience

- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management, or an equivalent relevant qualification.




- At least two years of relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, stock control and kitchen operations.
- Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain quality during busy service periods.
- Availability to work a roster that includes weekends and public holidays.
