Senior Asset Finance Broker: take over an established $25m+ a year portfolio

Most brokers who change firms start again from zero. This one doesn’t.

One of our senior brokers is moving on after six great years with Yakka Finance. He leaves behind one of the strongest asset finance portfolios in the market. We’re looking for an experienced broker to take it over, look after these clients properly and take it further.

You won’t be building a pipeline from scratch. You’ll take over a running book from day one.

The portfolio

- $118m+ in net amount financed written since January 2022

- $23m to $27m written every year, with 2026 tracking at around $28m, its strongest year yet

- Around 220 settlements a year, with an average deal size of about $112k

- A database of 385+ clients across every state, many of them repeat borrowers in construction, transport, earthmoving, trades and agriculture

- About 70% long-standing relationships first built by our Managing Director. The rest come from referral partners.

- Leads keep coming in. The portfolio gets all of Yakka’s online channel leads and comes with one of our top referral partners.

Who we’re looking for

Someone who is great at sales and excellent at credit, which is rare.

You’re comfortable on the phone and you really like to build relationships that last. You also know how to put together a clean deal. You’re highly competent across Full Doc and Low Doc commercial and consumer transactions. You know where to place debt, how to work through exposure limits and which lender suits which deal. You can run a high-volume book without hand-holding.

Just as important, you’re positive. You bring good energy to clients, referral partners and the team every day, not only on good days. You take ownership, back yourself and want to take your career to the next level.





You’ll have a team behind you

- A dedicated support person who has looked after this portfolio for the past three years and knows the clients, lenders and processes inside out. You won’t be logging into portals.

- A settlements team that takes deals from approval through to settlement

- A dedicated Partnerships Manager on the road for you, building referral pipelines with accountants, mortgage brokers and machinery dealers

- Our Managing Director, Asset Finance Broker of the Year at the Australian Broking Awards in 2022, 2023 and 2025, who you will sit next to and work alongside you through the handover

- A Marketing Manager who helps you build your profile in the market (if you want to lean into this)

Day to day

- Managing and growing the existing portfolio: asset finance for trucks, vehicles, machinery and equipment, plus business lending (lines of credit, overdrafts and commercial loans)

- Structuring and submitting Full Doc and Low Doc applications across our full panel, including CBA, Westpac, NAB, BOQ and Capital Finance, with full accreditations and preferential rates

- Keeping long-standing client relationships strong through the handover and converting new leads

- Growing referral partnerships alongside your Partnerships Manager

- Leading by example as a senior member of a young, high-performing team (great leadership will equal even better long term opportunities)

About you





- An established asset finance broker with a proven track record of writing and settling your own volume (commercial)

- Strong in Full Doc and Low Doc credit, with deep knowledge of lender policy

- Confident in sales and comfortable on the phone, with relationships your number one focus

- Positive and coachable, and you work well with the people around you rather than going it alone

- Ready to take on more leadership as the business grows

- Based in Sydney or willing to relocate. Knowledge of trucks, heavy machinery or vehicle finance is a plus.

- Want to build a personal brand in the industry gets extra bonus points
