Our client is a well-recognised, trusted and loved food brand. For more than 50 years, this proud Australian owned family business has been manufacturing and importing an expanding range of products that help everyday people effortlessly create authentic Asian-inspired food moments. As they continue navigating an exciting recent stage in their growth, they need an organised, commercially minded Assistant Accountant to join the team and support day-to-day accounting operations and provide reliable financial information that supports decision making.

Working closely with the Finance Manager your responsibilities will include:

Accounts payable and receivable

· Maintaining accurate accounts payable and receivable records.

· Reconciling supplier statements and customer accounts.

· Monitoring outstanding debtors and assist with cash collection.

· Investigating and resolving discrepancies with suppliers and customers.

Inventory, manufacturing and product costing

· Reconciling inventory records and investigate stock variances.

· Assisting with product costing, manufacturing costs and gross margin analysis.

· Supporting the reconciliation of imported goods, freight, customs duties and other landed costs.

Taxation, compliance and process improvement

· Assisting with BAS, GST and other compliance reporting.

· Maintaining appropriate financial records and supporting documentation.





· Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting and financial controls.

Financial accounting

· Assisting with monthly management accounts and month-end reporting.

· Preparing general ledger journals, accruals and prepayments.

· Completing bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.

· Assisting with budgeting, cash flow reporting and financial analysis.

Most importantly you will focus on providing information and insights that contribute to the making of great business decisions, opens the door to operational improvements and helps maintain the momentum for exploring bold ideas.

Degree qualified and working toward CPA qualification your track record of success will reflect your natural desire to learn and take ownership for delivering positive outcomes. Your key strengths will include outstanding communication skills, analytical capabilities and high attention to detail. Your advanced excel skills and experience with Power BI or Power Query will combine with your commitment to making a difference and desire to work in a business where challenging what can be achieved and expressing ideas and opinions is truly valued. Experience with Sage ERP and manufacturing/FMCG experience will be highly regarded.
