About Kapooka Health Centre

Kapooka Health Centre & Clinic are approximately 10 minutes outside of Wagga Wagga withinthe Kapooka Military arealocatedat Blamey Barracks. All soldiers in the Army complete Basic Training here, known as the “Home of the Soldier”. These healthfacilities support the Army Recruit Training Centre (ARTC). It has a 50-bed low dependency ward whichoperates24/7. Services provided include primary medical, nursing, dental, mental health,pharmaceuticaland physiotherapy.



Health Centre staff maybe requiredto work across Wagga &Kapooka.; Standard hours of operation aregenerally Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groupsrequiredfor weekend and on-call shifts).

What you’ll do

- Deliver high-qualitymental healthcare to Defence members

- Conductingfitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.

- Undertaking assessments,interventions,formulating treatment and care plansfor individuals and groupeducation sessions

- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environmentwhere patientwellness is paramount

What you bring

- Unrestricted AHPRAgeneralregistration as aPsychologist

- Minimum two years’Post Graduateexperiencewithinlast five yearsinmental health withina Primary Healthcare Settingor Specialist Mental Health Setting

- Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ asper Medicare Schedule

- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)

- Australian Citizenshiprequiredfor Baseline Security Clearance

- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
