A veterinarian is required for a maternity cover 8-month fixed-term contract commencing in December 2026.

This is a lead vet role, and the successful applicant will provide day-to-day clinical guidance and support to the 4-person veterinary team, while also stepping in to cover the superintendent duties. You will be involved in a diverse caseload of consultations and surgery.

The position is part-time (3 days per week) and 1 weekend per month. There is the opportunity to undertake full time work if desired. No after-hours required.

The ideal vet will be experienced and confident in soft-tissue surgery. Experience mentoring veterinarians in a supportive veterinary practice is desirable but not essential.

The clinic is well-equipped with ultrasound, endoscopy, orthopaedic equipment and electrocautery. The clinic attracts a loyal and supportive clientele.

Just 2.5 hours north of Sydney, the lifestyle in this area is superb, with a resident population of over 160 bottlenose dolphins, whales in season, snorkelling, diving and spectacular beaches. For those who prefer to keep their feet on terra firma, there are also great bushwalking trails, 4WD sand tours, horse and camel riding, sand dune quad biking and golf.
