The Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Criminal Lawyer to join the team at Bell Criminal Lawyers. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment, be client focused with a view to consistently achieving positive outcomes for clients while maintaining a balance of professionalism and personable qualities. The successful candidate will be based in our Brisbane CBD office, with the ability to travel to regional Courts when necessary.

An attractive remuneration package will be discussed with the successful candidate, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage a mixed case load of legal aid and privately funded matters independently, with minimal supervision.
- Provide expert legal advice and representation across various criminal law matters.
- Travel to regional jurisdictions when required for Court appearances.
- Work alongside a dedicated team to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.

To be considered for this role, you must:





- Be admitted to practise as a solicitor in Queensland.
- Criminal law experience (Level of post-admission experience required for this position is not fixed. For the right candidate, we can adapt the role to suit varying levels of experience, but criminal law experience is essential).
- A demonstrated ability to appear in Court on a daily basis.
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a car.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and interpersonal).
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple client files.
- Ability to work independently, work to deadlines and manage your workload effectively.
- The ability to build and maintain the trust and confidence of clients and the Court.
- Be proactive, with a strong work ethic and willingness to take on challenges to get the job done.
