We’re looking for a caring, capable Registered Nurse to join our established mental health clinic in Woden. This is a casual position, ideally 2-3 days per week, with the potential to move to part-time for the right person.
About Us
TMS ACT specialises in advanced treatments for depression and other psychiatric disorders. We offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and esketamine therapy, which are innovative treatments for treatment-resistant depression.
Our clinic is led by director Dr John Saboisky, who has been treating patients in Canberra since 1983, and Dr May Matias, a psychiatrist with a special interest in treating veterans. We work alongside two other experienced consultant psychiatrists. We’re a small, friendly team, and you’ll work closely with our psychiatrists every day.
The Role
TMS is a safe, well-tolerated treatment involving 20-40 minute sessions, typically delivered on weekdays over 7 weeks before moving to maintenance. Esketamine (Spravato) is a nasal spray that patients self-administer under the direct supervision of our registered nurses, followed by a monitored observation period.
We’re looking for someone who can deliver excellent clinical care while making patients feel comfortable and supported. Patients see us often, sometimes daily over several weeks, so a lot of this role is simply enjoying people and being good company.
If you like getting to know your patients and have a genuine interest in mental health nursing, we’d love to hear from you.
