HEMS CAPTAINS AND COPILOTS

Heliwest is a Western Australian based Helicopter company that conducts a wide range of operations that include SAR/HEMS, Air Transport, Aerial Work, Training and Mining Support. Heliwest currently operates BK117, EC135, AS350, B206 aircraft.

Heliwest is seeking expressions of interest from experienced aviation professionals interested in the role of BK117 pilot on our HEMS operation.

Location:

Location is Newman or Mining Camps, Pilbara Region WA.

Fly in fly out 15/13 roster

About the Role

Operating the BK117 helicopter in a demanding aeromedical environment, you will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of helicopter emergency medical services throughout the Pilbara.

Your duties will include:

- Conducting HEMS, aeromedical retrieval and emergency response missions.
- Operating into remote Western Australian mining country.
- Working closely with medical crews and emergency services.
- Maintaining the highest standards of aviation safety, professionalism and operational readiness.
- Supporting aircraft preparation, mission planning and day-to-day operational requirements.

Pilots require:

- A safety focus above all else




- Sound interpersonal skills
- Sound communication skills both verbal and written
- A demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple demands in dynamic environments
- Demonstrated experience in turbine helicopter operations.
- Strong understanding of remote-area operations and aviation risk management.
- Excellent communication, decision-making and crew resource management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small, professional team.

Mandatory Requirements:

Captains

- CPL(H)
- NVFR(H)
- 2500 hours helicopter
- 1500 hours PIC helicopter
- 500 hours PIC multi-engine helicopter
- 100 hours PIC BK117/EC145
- Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating
- NVIS Rating
- CPL(H)
- NVFR (H) – 20 hours minimum
- 1000 hours helicopter
- 500 hours turbine helicopter
- Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating
- ATPL (H)
- EC145 type rating
- Training and Check Experience
- Perth based
- HUET/EBS
- MCC
