Our Modular division takes that commitment off-site. From our manufacturing facility in Seymour, Victoria, we design, manufacture and deliver high-quality modular buildings to clients across Australia in a range of sectors.

The Role

Every module that leaves our Seymour facility starts as a drawing. We’re looking for an experienced Steel Detailer to make sure those drawings are right first time: accurate, compliant and ready for the factory floor.

Reporting to the Modular Director you’ll turn project concepts and engineering designs into detailed steel models, shop drawings and fabrication documentation for our modular buildings. You’ll work day-to-day with our estimators, production team and project managers, and you’ll see your work built just metres from your desk.

What you’ll be doing

Building detailed 3D/BIM models and producing fabrication shop drawings for primary steel and light gauge steel (LGS) framing

Preparing cut lists, drawing registers and other documentation the factory needs to build efficiently

Running structural load checks using available software tools

Reading project briefs,



specifications and contract requirements, and turning them into buildable details

Working with consulting engineers to resolve design questions and technical issues

Making sure all documentation meets the NCC and relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 1170, AS 4100, AS/NZS 2312 and NASH

Peer reviewing drawings to catch issues before they reach production

Keeping document control and project records accurate, in line with our ISO 9001 quality system

Working across Design, Estimating, Manufacturing, Procurement and Projects to keep jobs on program

Bringing ideas to our Modular Kaizen process to improve how we design and build

Following ATG’s HSEQ systems and helping make sure everyone goes home safe and well

What you’ll bring

3+ years’ experience as a Steel Detailer, Structural Detailer or similar

A qualification in structural drafting, engineering, design or a related field

A strong portfolio of structural steel detailing and fabrication documentation

A sound understanding of pinned and semi-rigid connection design

Working knowledge of AS/NZS 1170, AS 4100, AS/NZS 2312 and NASH Standards

Experience with steel detailing software (Advance Steel highly regarded) and BIM modelling

A background in construction, steel fabrication,



manufacturing or modular building

Strong Excel skills and confidence across Microsoft Office

A sharp eye for detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
