About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced logistics sales professional to join an established business with strong operational support and clear plans for continued growth. You'll take ownership of an existing portfolio of freight forwarding customers, while identifying and developing new business opportunities throughout the Sydney market. Working directly with the business owner, you'll have the autonomy to manage your customer relationships, develop your sales pipeline and contribute to SCT's ongoing growth. You'll be supported by a dedicated transport operations team managing the day-to-day container movements, allowing you to focus on building relationships and growing business. The role is based at our Prestons office, with a balance of approximately two days in the office and three days visiting customers and developing new opportunities.

Key responsibilities

Manage and develop an established portfolio of freight forwarding customers.

Identify, approach and secure new freight forwarding clients throughout Sydney.

Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and key decision-makers.

Understand customer transport requirements, challenges and opportunities.

Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through consistent prospecting and follow-up.

Identify opportunities to increase business with existing customers.

Work closely with management to develop and execute sales strategies.

Maintain accurate customer records, pipeline updates and sales activity reporting.

Contribute to sustainable, profitable business growth while maintaining SCT's commitment to service quality.

About you

We're looking for a mature, self-motivated sales professional who takes genuine ownership of their work and enjoys developing long term customer relationships. Ideally you bring:

Proven experience in business development or account management within transport,



freight forwarding or the broader logistics industry.

A demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and win new business.

Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of value-based selling.

Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

The confidence to prospect new customers and develop opportunities independently.

Strong organisational skills, accountability and a consistent approach to following through.

A proactive, positive attitude and a genuine desire to contribute to business growth.

Existing relationships within the Sydney freight forwarding industry will be highly regarded.

Specific container transport experience is advantageous but not essential.

Competitive remuneration: $110,000–$130,000 base salary plus superannuation.
