You will work closely with the Sector Manager and be supported by People Managers to ensure the team remains technically strong, well-resourced, engaged, and aligned with our growth strategy.

The Role

As Team Manager, you will provide senior technical leadership across complex water resources, flood, drainage,

You will play a key role in ensuring the team is appropriately resourced, equipped with the right skills, and positioned to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.

How you’ll make a difference

- Manage team workload, resourcing, and workshare to achieve business objectives.
- Identify capability gaps and support training, professional development, and succession planning.
- Foster a positive, cooperative, and high-performing team culture.
- Support career development discussions and follow up on development plans.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration across business lines and regions.
- Contribute to sector strategy, pipeline planning, and future resource forecasting.

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role.

The qualities that help you thrive

- A strong background in either Flood Engineering or Drainage Engineering (Approximately 13+ years of consulting experience)
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring technical professionals.
- Strong commercial awareness, with experience balancing project delivery, and team performance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience developing client relationships and contributing to business growth.
- CPEng and RPEQ accreditation (or the ability to obtain them).
- Proficiency with industry-standard software such as TUFLOW, RORB, HEC-RAS, DRAINS, 12d, XP-STORM, MUSIC, MIKE Flood, and GIS platforms.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR), Queensland Urban Drainage Manual (QUDM), TMR Drainage Manual requirements, and relevant Australian Standards and industry guidelines.

Additional Information

This is an opportunity to help shape the future of one of South East Queensland's leading Water Resources teams. You will continue to work on technically challenging projects while playing a key leadership role in developing people, building capability, and driving team success.

If you are passionate about engineering excellence and leading high-performing teams, we'd love to hear from you.

Why you’ll love working with us

- Purchase up to 6 weeks additional annual leave per year
- Volunteer and representation leave
