About the role

We are seeking a Senior Casual Sales Assistant to join our team at our Airlie Beach QLD location. This is a casual position offering flexible hours to suit your lifestyle. As a Senior Casual Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding customer experiences while supporting the smooth operation of our retail store. You will be responsible for assisting customers, processing transactions, and maintaining store standards. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoys building genuine connections with customers.

Key responsibilities

- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, understanding their needs, and offering relevant product recommendations
- Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems whilst maintaining cash handling best practices
- Stock shelves, arrange merchandise displays, and maintain a clean, organised and visually appealing store environment
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving stock deliveries and conducting regular stock counts
- Support junior team members and new staff, providing guidance and mentoring where required




- Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally and courteously, escalating issues to management when necessary
- Comply with store policies, security procedures, and health and safety regulations at all times
- Contribute to achieving sales targets and promoting special offers or new products to customers

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working in a retail environment, with a track record of delivering excellent customer service
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with diverse customers and colleagues
- Reliability and commitment to punctuality, with the flexibility to work casual hours including weekends and busy periods
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative when needed
- Basic mathematical skills and proficiency with point-of-sale or similar retail systems
- Physical capability to lift, carry and stand for extended periods throughout your shift
- A friendly, patient demeanour with a genuine passion for helping customers
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience in retail would be highly valued
