Our client's Accounts Payable function needs fixing. Invoices are backlogged, exceptions are piling up, and Workday is live but not yet running the way it should.
They're a wealth management business hiring an AP Manager on a 6 month contract to set up AP processes from scratch and process invoices in the meantime.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Owning AP from end to end and bringing it back to a steady, reliable cadence
- Processing invoices hands-on while the new framework takes shape
- Digging into the underlying causes of issues, whether they sit in the process, the system or how people are working
- Designing a clear remediation roadmap and driving it through to completion
- Speeding up invoice turnaround and clearing out exceptions and aged items
- Getting suppliers paid on time and pushing up OCR and automation rates in Workday
- Tidying up the vendor master file and introducing proper controls over changes
- Mapping out how AP works today and how it should work tomorrow, with SOPs and process maps built along the way
- Partnering with Finance,
IT and an offshore outsourced team to keep momentum up
- Reporting to senior finance leadership and keeping the wider business informed on progress
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A track record of leading an AP function through a clean-up or turnaround
- Confidence tackling the systems, process and people sides of the problem together
- Proven project management skills, with a history of delivering plans rather than just writing them • Hands-on process improvement experience within an ERP, ideally Workday
- Composure when things get busy, and the ability to drive accountability while keeping relationships intact
- Solid communication skills and the ability to pitch it right for everyone from executives to AP processors
