An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to join an established Build to Rent developer and investment business, with projects in Scarborough and Subiaco.
We’re looking for a hands-on, practical and commercially minded person who understands construction and is looking to take the next step in their project management career.
Ideally, you’ll currently be working for a contractor in a Project Coordinator or Site Engineer capacity, preferably with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder and exposure to residential or multi-residential projects. You’ll have a strong understanding of site operations, stakeholder coordination and project delivery, along with a desire to broaden your experience within a developer setting.
Most importantly, you'll enjoy being on site, working with builders, subcontractors and consultants, solving problems and getting involved in the day-to-day delivery of projects.
The Role
Working closely with the Project Manager and development team, you’ll be involved in:
- Site inspections, quality and progress monitoring
- Coordinating builders, subcontractors and consultants
- Reviewing drawings, documentation and programmes
- Assisting with variations, costs and project reporting
- Managing project tasks, documentation and meetings
- Defects, completion and handover
- Supporting the Project Manager across the full project lifecycle
This is not a desk-based role. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, inquisitive and willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved.
About You
You'll ideally have experience working for a commercial or residential contractor as a Project Coordinator, Site Engineer or Assistant Project Manager, with a solid understanding of construction delivery and project controls. Experience on residential, Build to Rent, apartments or mixed-use developments will be highly regarded.
You'll Be:
- Hands-on and solutions-focused
- Organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident liaising with builders, subcontractors and consultants
- Proactive and willing to take ownership
- Commercially curious and keen to learn
- Looking to transition from a contractor environment into a developer-side project management role
This is a great opportunity to build a career within the growing Build to Rent sector, gaining exposure to construction, development and the long-term operation of residential assets. If you are interested in this opportunity, then please reach out to Phil Cosgrove on 0481 206 762 or
