The Psychologist provides high-quality therapeutic services to clients of Davina Counselling & Psychotherapy. This role suits a practitioner who values relational depth, cultural humility, trauma-sensitive practice, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. As an independent contractor, you maintain autonomy over your clinical work while contributing to a warm, collaborative practice environment.

Key responsibilities

Deliver psychologist services within your professional scope of practice.

Provide culturally respectful, inclusive, and anti-oppressive care to all clients.

Conduct thorough assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate clinical notes in accordance with Victorian privacy and AHPRA legislation.

Manage your own caseload and session scheduling within the agreed practice hours.

Uphold ethical standards consistent with AHPRA, or equivalent regulatory bodies.

Engage in reflective practice and seek supervision as required by your professional registration.

Maintain skilled boundaries and adhere to trauma-informed principles.

Participate in optional team meetings, case discussions, or professional development opportunities offered by the practice.

Ensure timely communication with the practice regarding client needs, risks, or administrative matters.

About you





Current registration with AHPRA, or equivalent body, with eligibility to practise independently.

Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance (minimum coverage aligned with industry standards).

Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check.

Demonstrated experience in psychology with individuals within areas of scope.

Commitment to culturally safe practice, including working respectfully with clients from diverse backgrounds, identities, and communities.

Ability to comply with Victorian privacy, record-keeping, and health information legislation.

Competence in trauma-sensitive, relational, or evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

This role is expected to be undertaken on Tuesday and Thursdays, and every 2nd Saturday (4 Hrs).
