Business Development Manager
Our client is a growing, founder-led non-bank residential lender. They distribute through the broker channel and have a small, close-knit sales team that works closely with credit, operations and senior management.
They are hiring an experienced BDM to own and grow their broker relationships across NSW. You'll report to the National Head of Distribution.
This is a road role. You'll spend most of your week out with brokers, and be in the Sydney office 2 to 3 days a week to work with the credit team, operations, senior management and the wider sales team.
Key responsibilities
- Build, manage and grow a network of mortgage brokers and aggregator contacts across NSW
- Bring new brokers on board and grow volume from existing relationships
- Hit monthly settlement targets, which grow as your book builds
- Visit brokers regularly, run broker training, and present at aggregator and industry events
- Help brokers structure deals and give early guidance on credit policy and product fit
- Work closely with the credit and operations teams to move deals from submission through to settlement
- Pass on market and competitor intel to senior management to help shape product and pricing
- Keep accurate records of broker activity, pipeline and volumes in the CRM
- Act as the face of the business in the NSW broker market
About you
- BDM or BRM experience with a non-bank lender (strongly preferred). Bank or aggregator BDMs with strong broker networks will also be considered
- An established broker network across Sydney and NSW
- Solid knowledge of residential lending, including non-bank and specialist credit
- A record of growing settlement volumes and meeting targets
- Enough credit understanding to pre-assess deals and have practical conversations with brokers and the credit team
- Self-driven and happy working on the road, with good organisation and follow-through
- Strong relationship skills and a hands-on, team-first approach
