Curriculum and Programs Manager
Location: Alexandria NSW 2015
Salary Range: $130,000 to $150,000 per annum (including superannuation)
Nobody is waiting to hand Co-Hivers their next opportunity. So we create it.
Co-Hive is Australia’s first education-driven community for young adults aged 17 to 35 with mild disability and neurodivergence and related support needs. Many of our Co-Hivers have struggled with learning or learning differently. With us, they build the confidence and critical skills to live independently and take their next steps into employment and further study.
Co-Hive is not a replacement for TAFE or university. We are the stepping stone that builds the foundational knowledge Co-Hivers need to go on and succeed there, in the workplace and in their own homes.
Our programs are established and run across three streams: Employment Pathways, Independence and Advocacy, and Social and Wellbeing. Every program is built on self-determination and hands-on, experiential learning, and we keep evolving them so they lead Co-Hivers somewhere real. Now Co-Hive needs someone to own that model end to end.
This is a leadership role with real, hands-on ownership. Reporting to the CEO and sitting on Co-Hive’s Management team, you will make sure our programs are meaningful, innovative and impactful, removing learning barriers and improving opportunities and outcomes for every Co-Hiver.
Your three areas of responsibility
1. Curriculum and program impact
- Design and refine experiential curriculum across all streams, adapting learning so every Co-Hiver builds on their strengths and is supported in their challenges
- Use technology and AI to remove learning barriers and make learning more engaging and accessible, and lead staff and Co-Hivers to do the same
- Measure and assess learner progress and program impact, and report on it to families, funders and partners
2. Strategy, pathways and partnerships
- Contribute to Co-Hive’s strategic plan and vision, growing programs as participant needs change
- Build stepping stone pathways into TAFE, university and employment with education providers, employers and community organisations
- Lead grant applications to improve program opportunities and collaborations
3. Team and organisational leadership
- Upskill and develop the Program Facilitators and Program Assistants
- Manage the Programs budget, staffing and resourcing
- Work with the Management team to build the systems Co-Hive needs to grow
You’ll bring:
- 5+ years in education, including a leadership role (for example Head Teacher, Deputy Principal or program leader), ideally in a high school or special education setting with students who have disability or learn differently
- A tertiary qualification in Education (essential) and deep knowledge of curriculum design and delivery across a range of subject areas
- Proven experience designing experiential, self-determination based learning that builds confidence and independence
- Results to show: learners who have reached their goals, including work, study or living independently
- Robust skills in tracking learner progress and program impact, and turning that data into clear reports for leaders, families and funders
- Exceptional technology and AI skills, with real examples of using them to engage learners
- Knowledge of the Australian Disability Strategy
- Experience leading teams and winning grants or funding
- A track record of building community connections,
spotting opportunities and creating them when they don’t exist
- An inquisitive, calm and solutions-focused leader who inspires those around you
- An out of the box thinker who works at pace without losing attention to detail, and a builder at heart who is energised by making an impact
- A current Working With Children Check and full working rights in Australia
About Co-Hive Founded in 2024, Co-Hive is a fast-growing ‘for-purpose’ organisation with big plans to reach more young people who are too often left without support once school ends. This role sits right at the centre of that growth.

Company Overview
At Co-Hive, we do things differently. We’re a values-led organisation grounded in self-determination and participant-led growth. Through structured, innovative programs, we support young people to build skills across all areas of life, from social skills, navigating public transport and managing daily routines to preparing for open employment.
Our focus is on developing independence, promoting choice and control, reducing the high risk of social isolation, and building capacity for open employment. Whether it’s through hands-on cooking sessions, real-world work experiences, or social events that foster genuine friendships, participants take meaningful steps toward autonomy every day. With experienced facilitators, strong partnerships with families and employers, and a welcoming workplace at the heart of what we do, Co-Hive is more than a service – it’s a connected, inclusive community where every individual is seen, supported, and celebrated.
