JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE:Paraprofessional

QUALIFICATIONS:
Paraprofessional Certificate TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 months REPORTS TO:Principal or Designee JOB GOAL:To assist the teacher or certified professional so that she/he will have more time to work with students. PERFORMANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1. Supervise students at all assigned locations.
- Assist teachers in supervising and instructing students in the classroom as well as in the community during school hours.
- Assist with student assessment, grading work and scoring student tests, and collecting data on student progress.
- Assist with registration, initial records, and assignment of materials for current students.
- Assist the classroom teacher in securing, organizing, and administering make-up work for students due to illness.
- Assist with routine record keeping; assist in the maintenance of computer records and/or teacher records related to the instructional program and student progress; and assist in the maintenance of permanent records and attendance registers.




- Assist with the preparation and distribution of materials for instruction (including the copying/duplicating of materials, construction of displays/bulletin boards, learning centers, and manipulatives).
- Locate, operate, and return needed equipment.
- Assist in the verification of student absences by phone contact with parents.
- Assist in organizing field trip requests and handling follow-up arrangements.
- Assist with classroom housekeeping.
- Assist the principal/assistant principal in monitoring attendance, honor roll, outstanding students, and other programs that enhance instruction.
- Assist with school wide supervision, such as loading/unloading buses.
- Assist in the ordering and inventory of classroom equipment and materials
- Prepare instructional materials as directed by the teacher.
- Provide help with personal care of students as needed.
- Supervise and assist students in loading and unloading buses.
- All other tasks as assigned by principal or designee. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel. Qualification Required: Paraprofessional Certificate
