ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dealership Accountant to join one of our busy Victorian dealership groups. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident with financial reporting, and wants to grow within a large and respected dealership network.

You will play a critical role in monitoring and managing the financial and administrative functions of the dealership. You’ll assist in the preparation of monthly accounts, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and support compliance with accounting standards and legislative requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensure dealership compliance with financial obligations and internal policies
- Prepare end-of-month accruals and adjustments for Financial Controller review
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations within set timelines
- Complete franchise and manufacturer financial reporting accurately and on time.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
- Monitor debtors and ensure collections are in line with terms
- Support the payroll team with compliance and FBT matters
- Assist with cash handling, credit card management, and banking controls




- Liaise with various departments to ensure vehicle processing accuracy
- Provide administrative support to the Financial Controller
- Contribute to continuous improvement of finance operations

ABOUT YOU:

- Tertiary qualifications in accounting or equivalent experience
- Experience in financial reporting, preferably within a dealership or commercial environment
- Experience using Pentana DMS (preferred, not essential)
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills and general proficiency across Microsoft Office
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, organised, and deadline-driven mindset
- Reliability, professionalism, and a team-oriented attitude
