In this role, you will be responsible for delivering premium tropical snapper to customers around Australia.

We are seeking Demersal Skippers – Trap Fishing to join our Northern Finfish team in the Timor Reef & Demersal Fishery, with positions available for an immediate start.

As a Skipper, you will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of a trap vessel in the Northern Territory’s Timor Reef Tropical Snapper Fishery.

What we’re looking for:

- Master 5 and MED 2 certificates or higher (e.g. Master 4 and MED 1).

- Relevant fishing experience in deep-sea, cray/crab or trap fishing.



Pelagic fishing experience is not suitable.

- Willingness to relocate to Darwin or work on a fly-in, fly-out basis, with a roster of 42 days on and 42 days off.

- Demonstrated ability to lead and maintain a solid safety culture on board.

- Strong communication skills when working with both vessel crews and land-based teams.

- A commitment to delivering high-quality fish to market.

- A high level of proficiency with marine electronics, including sonar, Time Zero & WASSP.

- Strong marine safety knowledge and expertise.

- A thorough understanding of Australian Maritime Safety Authority regulations and standards.

- Current skills in Excel, Word and other reporting tools.

- A current C Class driver’s licence.

- A forklift ticket is preferred but not essential.
