You'll operate excavators and various plant on electrical network projects, working with linework and cabling crews to trench for HV and LV underground reticulation and street lighting, install conduits, pits, pillars and cable bedding to network standards, excavate footings and pads for padmount and kiosk substations, pothole and expose existing underground services working near live assets, and backfill, compact and reinstate to network and council requirements along with loading and floating required machines between sites.
Key responsibilities
- Trench for HV and LV underground reticulation and street lighting
- Install conduits, pits, pillars and cable bedding to network standards
- Excavate and prepare footings and pads for padmount and kiosk substations
- Pothole and expose existing underground services, working near live assets
- Backfill, compact and reinstate to network and council requirements
- Load and float machines between sites
About you
- At least 3–5 years of excavator operating experience in civil, utilities or electrical network work
- Excavator ticket, Statement of Attainment or VOC
- General Construction Induction (White Card)
- Experience digging around live underground services, and an understanding of Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) plans
- Current driver's licence (MR or HR highly regarded)
- Strong safety habits and a good attitude in a team environment
