Our client is a large, highly reputable Australian Financial Services business with a strong market presence and a well-established finance function.

The role

Looking for a CA-qualified Finance Manager who can hit the ground running on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Sydney.

This is a end-to-end Financial Control role, so you'll own the numbers end to end, but there's real business partnering in it too. Excellent opportunity for someone who wants a meaty contract with good exposure across the business.

What's involved

- Owning the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations, and delivering accurate results to tight deadlines
- Preparing statutory financial statements in line with AASB and Corporations Act requirements
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and making sure the ledger is clean and well supported
- Preparing monthly management reporting packs, with clear commentary on performance and variances
- Partnering with business leaders to explain results, challenge assumptions and support decision making
- Supporting budgeting,



forecasting and reforecast cycles
- Acting as the key contact for external auditors through interim and year-end audits
- Maintaining and strengthening financial controls, policies and procedures
- Leading or contributing to process improvement and system enhancements across the finance function
- Managing ad hoc analysis and reporting requests for senior stakeholders

What you'll bring

- CA qualified (non-negotiable)
- Strong Financial Control background, ideally at Finance Manager or Senior Financial Accountant level
- Banking or Financial Markets experience highly regarded
- Hands-on experience with statutory accounts and month-end close
- Confident communicator who can partner with non-finance stakeholders
- Full Australian working rights (unfortunately this one isn't suitable for working holiday visa holders)
