Our client is a listed international renewable energy group building a growing portfolio of utility scale BESS and solar projects across Australia. They are looking for a Finance Manager to join their Sydney finance team.

This is a hands on role with no direct reports. You will report to the Finance Lead, Australia, and focus on financial reporting, tax and audit across several Australian entities, including project special purpose vehicles.

What you will do

- Lead month end, quarter end and year end close across multiple Australian entities
- Prepare and review financial statements, journals, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Prepare group consolidation, including intercompany reconciliations and adjustments
- Deliver reporting packs for local management and Group Finance overseas
- Review Goods and Services Tax and Business Activity Statement lodgements, and support corporate income tax work with external advisers
- Run the annual external audit, from audit schedules through to auditor queries
- Oversee and coach the team handling accounts payable, accounts receivable and the general ledger
- Keep reporting in line with Australian Accounting Standards and group policies

What you bring

- Chartered Accountant (preferred)



or Certified Practising Accountant
- 8 to 10 years of financial accounting and reporting experience in Australia, ideally a mix of accounting firm and in house roles
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax and audit matters
- Experience with group consolidation and intercompany accounting across multiple legal entities
- Conversational Mandarin is essential, as you will work closely with Group Finance overseas
- Full working rights in Australia

Highly regarded

- Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, construction or property development
- Experience with project special purpose vehicles, intercompany financing and development expenditure
