The role An chance has become available for an experienced Database Administrator to work as part of a small technical team made up of highly qualified and experienced geologists and database specialists. This is a full-time or part-time role working at a centrally located Perth (Subiaco) office. For the right candidates, consideration will be given to a part time, or a mix of services performed in the office and remotely.

This role will suit DBA professionals who are confident in the provision of services and have the maturity and professional experience to interact with clients and their technical personnel.

Key responsibilities

- Compilation and management of geological databases using SQL server and DataShed 5 database management software
- Database design and management
- Liaising with clients to establish and implement field data collection protocols
- Collation of data, including the use of logging software (LogChief and Ocris)
- QAQC reporting
- Communicating with clients to ensure that deadlines and priorities are being achieved
- The provision of validated data to client's technical personnel
- Overseeing the integrity, availability and the manipulation of various types of data

About you





- Proficient in the use of SQL Server for coding and querying of databases
- Expert knowledge and working application of industry software and database platforms (Datashed 5, LogChief)
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Geologist, Geoscience) or significant industry experience
- A highly proficient Microsoft software user (Excel, Access, Word etc)
- Able to work in a role with multiple priorities and achieve deadlines
- Have the confidence and experience to work independently
- The ability to share knowledge and information in a logical and consultative manner
- Previous experience working with geological or exploration related data is essential
- Lawful right to work in Australia
