**Senior Program Officer (Grants Assessor) - Clerk Grade 9/10

Location:** Sydney CBD (hybrid)

Rate: $80 - $100 per hour + Super

Start: ASAP | Duration: 4-6 week contract

Working hours: 7hrs/day, 35 hours/week

About The Role Peritus Recruitment is partnering with a central NSW Government department to recruit an experienced Grants Assessor for a contract role. You’ll sit within the department’s Grant Program Office, assessing grant applications under the Community Building Partnership (CBP) program, which funds community infrastructure projects across NSW. You’ll make sure every application is assessed fairly, consistently and in line with the program guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess grant applications for eligibility in line with the program guidelines and assessment plans
- Prepare explicit, thorough project summaries for the assessment panels
- Keep grant assessment records accurate and accessible




- Answer enquiries and give guidance to community organisations, local councils and Local Members of Parliament
- Work with the Department of Communities and Justice and other NSW Government agencies to administer the program

About you

- Proven grants assessment experience (highly regarded) or, at minimum, grants administration experience
- A thorough understanding of the NSW Grant Administration Guide
- Strong attention to detail and well-developed written skills, including preparing summaries and reports in final form with minimal review
- Confidence managing sensitive stakeholder relationships in a politically aware environment
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent professional experience and training
