RAF Civil is on the hunt for a qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our growing civil construction team.

We’re looking for a motivated, reliable and experienced mechanic who can hit the ground running, work autonomously and take pride in keeping our fleet operating at its best.

THE ROLE

You’ll be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a diverse fleet of civil construction machinery, trucks and light vehicles.

Key responsibilities include

- Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on excavators, loaders, rollers, trucks, utes and other mobile plant.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Attending breakdowns and completing repairs in the field to minimise downtime.
- Conducting inspections, identifying potential issues and carrying out repairs before they become major problems.
- Troubleshooting diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions and associated components.
- Maintaining accurate service records and reporting on plant maintenance requirements.
- Working closely with our operations team to ensure machinery is safe, reliable and ready for work.
- Managing your workload independently and prioritising urgent repairs and servicing.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with proven industry experience.




- Experience working on civil construction machinery and heavy mobile plant.
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage your own workload.
- Self-motivated, driven and proactive with a strong work ethic.
- Current driver’s licence.
- A commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Previous hands-on experience is essential. We’re looking for someone who knows their way around heavy machinery and can confidently get the job done.
