Mayday Recruitment

Brisbane

MAYDAY Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading aged care provider to find an experienced Injury Management Business Partner to join its Health, Safety and Wellbeing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an essential and growing sector, partnering with operational leaders across a portfolio of residential aged care homes throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast. You’ll play a key role in strengthening workplace safety, managing complex injury matters and supporting leaders to create safer, healthier workplaces for their teams.

We’re looking for a hands-on, solutions-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable working autonomously and can confidently navigate complex situations while building strong relationships across the business.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the National Health and Safety Manager, you’ll work closely with Regional Managers and frontline leaders to provide practical advice, coaching and support across a geographically dispersed portfolio.

No two days will look the same. You’ll balance proactive safety initiatives with responding to emerging issues, managing complex cases and driving continuous improvement across the homes.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Partnering with leaders: Build robust relationships with Regional Managers and frontline teams, providing practical health, safety and wellbeing advice, coaching and guidance.

- Managing complex injury matters: Support complex workers’ compensation claims, injury management and return-to-work processes, helping achieve sustainable outcomes for employees and the business.

- Driving safety performance: Monitor incident, hazard and injury trends,

investigate incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

- Strengthening compliance: Support the implementation of health and safety systems, ensuring legislative requirements and internal policies are understood and followed.

- Building capability: Deliver training, mentor leaders and empower frontline teams to take ownership of workplace health, safety and wellbeing.

- Leading continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce risks and strengthen safety culture across the portfolio.

- Collaborating across the business: Work alongside the broader Health, Safety and Wellbeing team, contributing to initiatives, working groups and strategic improvement programs.

What We’re Looking For

- Three to five years’ experience in workplace health and safety, injury management, rehabilitation or a closely related field.

- Proven experience managing complex safety matters, injury cases or workers’ compensation claims in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong working knowledge of relevant WHS legislation and workers’ compensation requirements.

- The ability to influence, coach and engage stakeholders at all levels, including experienced operational leaders and frontline employees.

- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving,

with the confidence to work autonomously and adapt as priorities change.

- Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.

- A willingness to travel regularly across Brisbane and the Gold Coast to maintain a strong presence within the homes.

Experience in aged care, healthcare or another large, operationally complex organisation will be highly regarded. Experience in a self-insured environment and demonstrated change management capability will also be advantageous.

What's On Offer?

- A highly autonomous role where you can manage your own schedule and work across the portfolio, based from Brisbane or the Gold Coast.

- A varied role where you can make a tangible difference to employee wellbeing and safety outcomes.

- The opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and influence health, safety and injury management practices across a diverse portfolio.

- A supportive team environment with opportunities for ongoing professional development.

- Standard Monday–Friday business hours, with the flexibility to respond to operational priorities as they arise.

The role can be based in Brisbane or on the Gold Coast, with regular travel required across the portfolio. You’ll need access to your own vehicle, with work-related travel expenses reimbursed in line with company policy.

If you’re an experienced injury management or WHS professional who enjoys tackling complex challenges, building trusted relationships and driving meaningful improvements, we’d love to hear from you.
