We're looking for a motivated person to join our hire desk as a Junior Hire Controller. You'll start on our 6-month in-house training program. You don't need any industry experience, because we'll teach you everything on the job. If you do well, the program can lead to a full-time permanent role.
Key responsibilities
- Take hire bookings by phone and email, and give customers quotes
- Plan deliveries and pickups with our transport and workshop teams
- Allocate machines and keep track of what's on hire at each site
- Enter and update hire contracts in our hire system
- Handle off-hires, extensions and customer questions
- Support the sales and admin team when needed
About you
- Good communicator who's comfortable on the phone
- Organised, with a positive eye for detail
- Confident on a computer (Outlook, Excel)
- Keen to learn and build a career in the hire industry
- A team player who stays calm when things get busy
- An interest in construction or machinery is a bonus

Melbourne Equipment Rentals hires out access and lifting equipment across Victoria: scissor lifts, booms, vertical lifts, telehandlers, forklifts and light towers. We supply construction and major infrastructure projects, and we're a close-knit team that takes pride in keeping our customers' sites moving.
