Business Controls Manager – Sales & Lending
Sydney | Permanent | Hybrid | We’re looking for an experienced Business Controls Manager / Line 1 Risk professional to support a high-profile Sales & Marketing portfolio within financial services.
With a strong focus on mortgages, lending and broker distribution, this role will see you partner closely with the business to strengthen controls, manage incidents and issues, support regulatory obligations and drive ongoing risk uplift.
What you'll do
- Lead Line 1 risk and controls activities across Sales & Marketing.
- Support mortgage and lending activities across direct and broker channels.
- Manage incidents, issues, remediation actions and KRIs.
- Identify control gaps and drive controls testing and uplift.
- Support management and risk committee reporting.
- Partner with Line 2 Risk and stakeholders across Operations, Customer and Technology.
- Influence ownership and accountability for risk issues across the business.
- Help embed a solid and practical risk culture.
What you'll bring
- Strong Line 1 Risk / BCM experience within banking or financial services.
- Mortgage, home lending or secured lending experience is highly desirable.
- Broker/third-party lending experience would be a significant advantage.
- Strong controls testing, controls uplift and incident management capability.
- Understanding of lending regulation and responsible lending obligations.
- Solid stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Ability to operate autonomously within a complex and evolving risk setting.
