The Role

As a Lineboring Technician at Schlam, you will perform lineboring, bore welding, machining, and maintenance activities on mining equipment attachments across both new-build and rebuild projects. Your expertise will be essential in restoring components to OEM specifications, maintaining equipment integrity, and delivering high-quality outcomes while upholding Schlam's commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Core responsibilities of this role include;

- Take pride in maintaining brand-new, high-quality equipment.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot portable lineboring equipment while working independently.
- Carry out precision lineboring on OEM mining equipment attachments.
- Perform bore welding and prepare components for machining activities.
- Inspect, measure, and verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, repair scopes, and technical documentation.
- Machine components to specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Assist with component installation, fit-up, dismantling, and reassembly activities.
- Provide onsite field service support when required and maintain accurate repair records.
- Assist with light fabrication of components and support workshop improvements as required.

What We're Looking For

- Trade qualification as a Machinist, Fitter & Turner or similar.




- Proven experience operating lineboring equipment.
- Experience in mining, earthmoving, construction or heavy industry environments.
- Experience with bore welding and machining practices.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Forklift Licence and EWP Licence highly regarded.
- Robust commitment to safety, teamwork and quality workmanship
