MAKE-IT SPACE OFFICER The prospect:

- Full-time permanent position – Tuesday to Saturday
- Level 5 | Salary Circa $80,543 - $86,816 plus Superannuation (dependent on qualifications and experience)
- Located at the Shire of Dardanup Administration Building, Eaton

Inspire Creativity, Innovation and Learning in our Community The Shire of Dardanup is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Make-It Space Officer to lead the day-to-day operation, programming and ongoing development of our vibrant Mick Bennett Make-It Space. This exciting role is ideal for someone passionate about emerging technologies, hands-on learning and community engagement. You’ll help bring ideas to life, support creators of all ages and abilities and deliver engaging programs that inspire innovation, creativity and lifelong learning.

Working within our Libraries team, you’ll play a key role in growing membership, building community partnerships and ensuring our makerspace remains a welcoming, safe and contemporary hub for learning and discovery.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include

- Coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Make-It Space and delivering outcomes from the Three Year Operational Plan.
- Designing, delivering and evaluating workshops, inductions, demonstrations and creative learning programs.
- Supporting patrons with makerspace technologies including 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC routing and other fabrication tools.
- Maintaining equipment, managing consumables and undertaking first-line troubleshooting
- Developing and maintaining safe operating procedures, inductions and competency records
- Managing memberships, bookings and customer enquiries.
- Building strong partnerships with schools, community groups, businesses and volunteers
- Promoting the Make-It Space and identifying opportunities to increase participation and community engagement.
- Staying abreast of emerging technologies and introducing innovative equipment, programs and learning opportunities

About you To be successful, you will have:





- Experience working with makerspace technologies, creative technologies or similar innovative learning environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers or related technologies.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and support people of all ages and skill levels.
- Experience delivering programs, workshops, training or educational activities.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to build collaborative relationships with community, education and industry stakeholders.
- A commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.
