We're looking for experienced MC Drivers, or suitable heavy vehicle drivers looking to progress to MC, to join our Townsville team at Mount St John and complete local and country runs.

Safety is a priority at Simon. We provide training and support in fatigue management, including Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) and Advanced Fatigue Management (AFM), where relevant to your role and operational requirements.

What will you be doing? Based at our Mount St John facility in Townsville, you'll complete local and regional pick-ups and deliveries, including country runs, servicing a diverse customer base.

Your responsibilities will include

- Completing multi-customer and bulk freight pick-ups and deliveries.
- Operating MC vehicles safely and efficiently once appropriately licensed and authorised.
- Participating in load configuration, restraint and run planning.
- Handling machinery, specialised equipment and other freight profiles.




- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.
- Processing freight paperwork and electronic proof of delivery accurately.
- Communicating effectively with customers and our operations team.
- Working independently and as part of a team to deliver safe, reliable service.

What we're looking for

You'll need

- A current MC licence, or relevant heavy vehicle driving experience with eligibility and willingness to undertake MC licence training.
- Experience with local and regional pick-up and delivery operations.
- Sound knowledge of Townsville and surrounding regional areas.
- Experience in safe loading, freight handling and load restraint.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude.
- Confidence using transport technology, electronic POD systems and smartphones.
- A reliable, flexible attitude and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- A willingness to undertake relevant training, including fatigue management requirements.

A current Forklift (LF) licence and White Card will be highly regarded. Forklift licence training may be available for suitable applicants. Successful applicants will need to provide a current traffic history report and complete a pre-employment medical, including functional assessment and drug and alcohol testing.
