Lead a Strategic National Transport Operation

This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering exceptional customer outcomes, driving operational excellence and ensuring strong commercial performance across a complex national transport network.

Working closely with customers, transport partners and internal stakeholders, you will be accountable for service performance, continuous improvement initiatives and the overall success of the operation. You will play a key role in influencing strategy, building strong stakeholder relationships and identifying opportunities to enhance service, efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the delivery and performance of a national transport operation, ensuring service and operational targets are consistently achieved.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a trusted partner and primary escalation point.
- Drive improvements in service performance, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Analyse operational and financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, service delivery and profitability.
- Manage transport providers and key stakeholders to ensure seamless and cost-effective operations.




- Oversee claims management and support the resolution of operational and customer issues.
- Ensure robust governance, reporting and performance review processes are maintained.
- Collaborate with internal operational, commercial and customer service teams to deliver business objectives.
- Drive a culture of accountability, safety, customer focus and continuous improvement.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

- Significant leadership experience within transport, logistics or supply chain operations.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience managing operational performance and profitability.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale, multi-site or national operations.
- Experience managing transport providers, carriers or logistics partners.
- Strong customer relationship management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to drive operational improvements and deliver service excellence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer outcomes and leading high-performing teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
