A large financial enterprise is modernising its Palo Alto firewall estate, and we’re looking for a hands on engineer to help deliver it. You’ll run a like for like hardware refresh and move the routing setup onto Palo Alto’s newer routing engine.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering a firewall hardware refresh end to end, including config transfer, licence checks, HA pair swaps and staged cutovers
- Moving existing routing configuration onto logical routers, covering BGP, OSPF, static routes, redistribution and route filtering
- Working with a purpose built conversion tool, reviewing its output, fixing issues and feeding back improvements
- Proving every change works through routing table comparisons, neighbour checks and traffic path testing
- Planning change windows with network operations and supporting the setting after go live
- Troubleshooting routing, HA and dataplane issues as they come up
What we need to see:
- Extensive hands on Palo Alto experience in large enterprise environments
- Strong BGP and OSPF knowledge
- A track record on large firewall refresh or migration projects, including cutover and rollback
- Confidence on the CLI for validation and troubleshooting
- PCNSE, PCNSC or Palo Alto NGFW Engineer certification
Desirables:
- Experience with the Advanced Routing Engine or logical routers
- Panorama in a large managed estate
- BFD and policy based forwarding experience
- Background in financial services or similarly regulated environments
