Product Control Manager

Sydney | Permanent The opportunity A leading financial services organisation is looking for a Product Control Manager in Sydney.

You'll provide independent oversight of the valuation and integrity of the balance sheet, with a strong focus on derivatives. This is a broad and visible role. You'll partner with front office, Finance and Technology, lead key projects and manage a small team of one to two direct reports.

What you'll do

- Own the design, execution and assurance of independent controls across the firm's financial instruments
- Oversee daily P&L;, fair value assessments and balance sheet reporting, making sure they are complete and accurate
- Work with front office on valuation and position verification for recent products and business initiatives
- Spot, escalate and manage emerging risks across products and markets
- Drive automation, data and reporting improvements alongside Technology
- Lead, coach and develop a small team, and support control talent across the wider function

About you

- 8+ years in Product Control,



Valuation Control or Market Risk, ideally in an investment bank or similar markets environment. Strong junior managers ready for the next step will also be considered.
- Solid understanding of options and derivatives. Equity or index options experience is highly regarded, but other asset classes are welcome
- CA, CPA or international equivalent, with a degree in finance or a related field
- Strong data and analytical skills across Excel and VBA, with SQL, Python, BI tools or automation experience a real plus
- Confident stakeholder manager who delivers projects and enjoys working with high-performing people
