About the role

You'll play a key role in the design, specification, installation and commissioning of electrical systems. This is a hands-on consulting role based at ERM's Perth head office (hybrid working arrangement), where you'll work across the full project lifecycle — from concept and detailed design through to site support and handover.

Key responsibilities

- Design and document electrical systems (power distribution, control systems, lighting, earthing, etc.)

- Prepare technical specifications, single-line diagrams, schematics and as-built drawings

- Perform power system studies using ETAP (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, etc.)

- Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, AS 2067, etc.)

- Support installation, testing and commissioning on site

- Liaise with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the field

- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-effective solutions

About you

- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

- Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience





- Robust knowledge of Australian electrical standards and regulations

- Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation

- Experience with ETAP for power system analysis

- Project experience is ideal (design through to delivery/commissioning)

- Confident working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

- Current driver's license and willingness to travel to site as required

- Strong problem-solving and communication skills

- Interest in working across multidisciplinary project teams
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
