Job Objective A customer-facing role with hands-on technical variety. We are seeking a Retail IT Support Assistant who enjoys working with people and has a genuine interest in technology.
This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable dealing with customers face-to-face, can explain technical issues in plain language, and is capable of performing computer repairs and troubleshooting. You will be a key point of contact for walk-in customers and play an important role in shaping the in-store experience.
We are keen to expand our workshop offering to include mobile phone and tablet repairs so if you have this skill, we'd be keen to talk!
About the Role
This is a shopfront-based role located in Golden Square, Bendigo. You will be responsible for assisting customers with everyday technology needs, booking and completing repairs, and ensuring a professional and welcoming retail environment.
While more complex technical issues will be escalated to our wider technical team, you will be expected to confidently handle common support tasks and entry-level repairs independently.
For the right candidate there will be opportunities to do some client site visits too.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional assistance to walk-in customers
- Diagnose and complete entry-level computer repairs (PCs and laptops), including:
- Hardware replacements (RAM, SSDs, batteries, etc.)
- Operating system troubleshooting and rebuilds
- Assist customers with device setup, upgrades, and data transfers
- Clearly explain issues, solutions, and recommendations to customers
- Manage repair bookings, job tracking, and customer follow-ups
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming shopfront and workshop
- Escalate more complex technical issues to the broader technical team when required
Skills and Experience
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional manner
- A genuine interest in technology and problem-solving
- Technical knowledge of Windows PCs, laptops, and common applications
- Ability to perform or learn entry-level computer repairs and diagnostics
- Confidence communicating with customers who may not be technically minded
- Previous experience in retail, IT support, or a similar customer-facing role
- Relevant IT studies, certifications, or hands-on experience will be viewed favourably
