Who are we looking for?

This role is designed for an experienced accountant who enjoys the commercial and relationship side of the job more than being buried in technical detail. You'll be the senior relationship lead for a portfolio of business owners, bringing together Air's accounting, tax, bookkeeping and CFO teams to make sure clients get the right outcome.

Experience working with hospitality and eCommerce businesses is a plus, but not required for this role.

Your job is to make sure our clients know someone genuinely understand their business, is looking around corners for them, and is making sure they’re getting the full value of their relationship with Air.

What will your day look like?

- Building strong relationships with business owners, understanding their priorities and leading proactive conversations about their business.
- Identifying issues and opportunities early, and connecting clients with Air’s accounting, tax, bookkeeping and CFO specialists to help them get the right outcome.
- Recognising changes in clients’ needs, scope or complexity, and confidently leading conversations about additional support and fees.
- Leading the annual Year End Planning and Engagement Review processes for your portfolio, including chairing meetings and ensuring timely client sign-off.
- Owning the client experience from induction onwards, working closely with our Operations team to ensure a seamless experience.
- Using Air’s established systems and workflows to keep commitments moving, reduce manual administration and create more time for meaningful client conversations.
- Maintaining clear oversight of your portfolio, delegating effectively and ensuring clients and internal teams know what needs to happen next.
- Supporting the Sales team in prospective-client conversations and contributing to events, partnerships and community initiatives.





What you will need to succeed?

- 6+ years of experience within an accounting firm, ideally across business services, advisory or a client-facing accounting role.
- Chartered Accountants (or equivalent) qualification
- Have full working rights in Australia
- High confidence using Xero accounting software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working autonomously while maintaining speed, accuracy and accountability
- Ability to independently establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Comfortable communicating with clients and team members both on and offshore
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to delegate tasks and prioritise workload accordingly
- High attention to detail and demonstrated evidence of the ability to adhere to deadlines
