About the Role

CloudMarc is seeking an experienced Senior Data Test Engineer with strong hands-on data testing and automation capabilities to join a major enterprise data program in Sydney.

This role requires someone who understands how data warehouse solutions are designed, developed and tested across multiple layers.

We're looking for a specialist in data testing, not just a functional tester with SQL experience. You'll need to understand data structures, transformations, reconciliation and how to automate validation across complex data environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and execute comprehensive test scenarios for enterprise data warehouse solutions.
- Validate data across raw, modelling and presentation layers, understanding the different testing approaches required at each stage.
- Develop and maintain automated data testing solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy and coverage.
- Write and execute complex SQL queries to interrogate, reconcile and verify data.
- Validate data transformations, business rules, data integrity and accuracy across source and target systems.
- Identify data quality issues, investigate discrepancies and work closely with data engineers and technical teams to resolve defects.
- Contribute to test planning,



test strategy and continuous improvement of data quality processes.

Essential Skills & Experience

- Proven experience as a Senior Data Test Engineer, Data Quality Engineer or Data Warehouse Test Engineer.
- Robust hands-on experience testing enterprise data warehouse and data platform solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to automate data testing and validation.
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries and data interrogation.
- Solid understanding of data warehouse architecture, including raw, modelling and presentation layers.
- Experience validating ETL/ELT processes, data transformations and source-to-target mappings.
- Strong understanding of how data testing differs from traditional functional application testing.
- Experience with data reconciliation, integrity checks and data quality validation.
- Ability to work independently in a complex enterprise environment.

Highly Regarded

- Python or other scripting languages for test automation.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
- Experience integrating automated data tests into CI/CD pipelines.
