Who we're looking for?

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join a leading Australian FMCG and food & beverage business.

Working closely with a high-performing legal team and key stakeholders across the business, you'll play a key role in supporting the organisation's day-to-day legal requirements. You'll provide practical, commercially focused legal support across a broad range of franchising, property, leasing and commercial matters, partnering closely with stakeholders to help drive business outcomes and manage legal risk.

This role will suit a lawyer who enjoys a hands-on environment,



working closely with the business and providing pragmatic legal advice across a diverse range of matters.

What you'll be doing:

- Supporting franchising transactions, including franchisee onboarding, transfers, renewals and related documentation.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating franchise agreements and associated documents.
- Undertaking legal due diligence and advising on franchising-related matters.
- Providing legal advice on franchise network compliance and operational matters.
- Supporting the business on property and leasing matters across its national portfolio.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements.
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice on day-to-day business matters.

To be suitable, you'll have:

- Between 5 and 12 years' PQE gained in private practice and/or in-house environments.
- Demonstrated experience advising on franchising matters, ideally within a franchise network, retail, hospitality or FMCG environment.
- Experience managing franchising transactions, documentation and due diligence processes.
- Experience advising on property and leasing matters.
- Strong commercial contracting and negotiation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
