Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Platform & Reliability (Java/AWS)

We're seeking experienced Senior Software Engineers to join a high-performing cloud platform team responsible for the reliability, automation, and lifecycle management of large-scale cloud services.

This is an opportunity to work on critical platform systems that provision, manage, monitor, and recover cloud environments at scale. The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing cloud-based platform services while supporting critical production workloads. You'll work closely with engineers, platform teams, and stakeholders to identify issues, implement solutions, and improve system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services.




- Investigate and resolve complex production incidents across distributed cloud environments.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Develop automation and tooling to improve operational efficiency.
- Enhance monitoring, observability, alerting, and reporting capabilities.
- Support provisioning, lifecycle management, and recovery of cloud environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve platform reliability and scalability.
- Contribute to architecture, design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- Solid commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot .
- Experience building and supporting REST APIs and microservices.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services, including:
- Step Functions
- SQS
- SNS
- DynamoDB
- Aurora / SQL Databases
- Experience supporting production systems and resolving critical incidents.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within cloud-native and distributed system environments.

Desirable Skills

- Gradle
- OpenAPI
- Contract Testing (Pact)
- Feature Flag Frameworks
- Jira Service Management
- Platform Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering experience
- Automation and scripting expertise
