The Company

Our client is a Commonwealth Government organisation responsible for protecting Australia's national interests and operating within a highly secure environment.

Successful candidates will be required to complete an Organisation Suitability Assessment prior to commencement and will be allocated to work areas based on operational requirements.

The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Test Analyst to determine and undertake testing activities that validate the design, behaviour and quality of systems and services.

Working closely with stakeholders and development teams, you will develop and execute comprehensive testing approaches across recent features, enhancements and defect fixes.

This is an initial 12-month contract, with 2 x 12-month extension options.

Responsibilities

- Liaise with key stakeholders to understand business risks, impacts and measurable acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand system architecture, integrations, infrastructure, constraints and downstream impacts of change.
- Design, maintain and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans and test cases, including regression testing.
- Perform system integration testing and user acceptance testing for new features, enhancements and defect fixes.
- Manage defects through identification, analysis, logging, prioritisation, re-testing and verification.




- Maintain traceability between requirements, acceptance criteria, test scenarios and test cases.
- Select and document appropriate test techniques and methodologies to support effective coverage.
- Produce high-quality test artefacts, reports and metrics.
- Ensure acceptance criteria and definitions of done are understood, agreed, documented and achieved.
- Lead and coordinate testing activities, priorities and resources, evaluating outcomes against business objectives.

Requirements

Essential

- Demonstrated experience as a Senior Test Analyst within complex delivery environments, supported by relevant industry certification such as ISTQB or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven proficiency with Jira and Confluence, including hands-on experience managing defects through the complete lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based environments and system integration, including dependencies and downstream impacts of change.
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex technical and testing information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Current TSPV security clearance is required.
