The opportunity

Our client is a growing Melbourne-based technology company. They’re looking for a Technical Lead who still loves to code, to architect and deliver a new, customer facing platform that is being built from scratch for an external client. You’ll be part of a tight-knit squad working to a hard delivery date. You'll spend most of your time coding. You’ll also guide a small team of developers and QA, and be the go-to technical contact for the client and vendors.

- C# / .NET (ASP.NET Core), REST APIs, Dapper, PostgreSQL
- Next.js and React (TypeScript)
- AWS, event-driven: Lambda, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, S3, RDS, KMS
- Terraform, GitHub Actions
- Auth0 / OAuth 2.0 / OIDC, plus Playwright and Jest for testing

What you’ll do

- Set the architecture, make the key technical calls, and write production code for the critical components
- Design integrations with internal systems and third party APIs
- Run sprint planning and estimation, and set the standard for code review and engineering practice
- Get the platform ready for the client’s security review and penetration testing




- Deliver a clean handover: infrastructure as code, documentation and release to the client’s test environment

What you’ll bring

- You’re a senior engineer (8+ yrs) who has led a delivery team while still coding
- You’ve taken a platform from greenfield to go-live against a hard deadline, ideally on a client engagement
- Expert C# and TypeScript, Next.js architecture, and AWS with Terraform
- Solid integration design skills, covering webhooks, message queues and idempotency
- Solid security knowledge: OAuth 2.0 and OIDC, MFA, OWASP and threat modelling
- You’re comfortable leading technical conversations with clients, vendors and business stakeholders
